چکیده
Abstract. We have developed a procedure for retrieving atmospheric abundances of HFC-23 (CHF3) with ground-based Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometer and analyzed the spectra observed at Rikubetsu, Japan (43.5? N, 143.8? E), Syowa Station, Antarctica (69.0? S, 39.6? E). The FTIR retrievals were carried out SFIT4 retrieval program, two spectral windows 1138.5–1148.0 cm?1 1154.0–1160.0 in overlapping ?2 ?5 vibrational–rotational transition bands used to avoid strong H2O absorption features. considered O3, N2O, CH4, H2O, HDO, CFC-12 (CCl2F2), HCFC-22 (CHClF2), peroxyacetyl nitrate (PAN) (CH3C(O)OONO2), HCFC-141b (CH3CCl2F), HCFC-142b (CH3CClF2) be interfering species. Vertical profiles CH4 are preliminarily retrieved other independent because these may induce large uncertainties retrieval. Radar observations of ionospheric irregularities at Syowa Station, Antarctica: a brief overview
We briefly overview the radar observations that have been made for 30 years at Syowa Station, Antarctica for studying small-scale electron-density irregularities in the southern high-latitude Eand F-region ionosphere. Some observational results (i.e., long-term variations of radio aurora, Doppler spectra with narrow spectral widths and low Doppler velocities, and simultaneous observations of ra...

متن کاملMeasurement of black carbon at Syowa station, Antarctica: seasonal variation, transport processes and pathways
Measurement of black carbon (BC) was carried out at Syowa station Antarctica (69 • S, 39 • E) from February 2004 until January 2007. The BC concentration at Syowa ranged from below detection to 176 ng m −3 during the measurements. Higher BC concentrations were observed mostly under strong wind (blizzard) conditions due to the approach 5 of a cyclone and blocking event. The BC-rich air masses tr...
متن کاملRe-Evaluation of Geomagnetic Field Observation Data at Syowa Station, Antarctica
The Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition has conducted geomagnetic observations at Syowa Station, Antarctica, since 1966. Geomagnetic variation data measured with a fluxgate magnetometer are not absolute but are relative to a baseline and show drift. To enhance the importance of the geomagnetic data at Syowa station, therefore, it is necessary to correct the continuous variation data by using...

A long-standing desire in biological and biomedical sciences is to be able to probe cellular chemistry as biological processes are happening inside living cells. Synchrotron radiation-based Fourier transform infrared (SR-FTIR) spectral microscopy is a label-free and nondestructive analytical technique that can provide spatiotemporal distributions and relative abundances of biomolecules of a spe...
